As a student I need to…

Learning Path Diagnostic

The Learning Path Diagnostic is a measurement of skills organized with 20 Pre-test questions tied to Blooms 1-2 and 20 Post-test questions tied to Blooms 3-4, as well as a learning path to help strengthen and remediate students based on their personal skill level.

Topic Overview

The Topic Overview offers a summary of the Learning Outcomes/Skills to address the skills that will be built in the practice exercises and activities for the topic.  Students are shown what the topic is, given a list of practice opportunities, then asked to use what they’ve learned by applying the skill to their own situation.

Video Interviews

Features real student interviews ‘by students, for students’ on key questions related to the topic and includes how they have been working to overcome challenges in building the skills addressed.  This engages students in a peer-to-peer experience, provides a broad student perspective that is realistic and motivates them to learn more about the topic at hand.

Practice Exercises (not graded)

Two per topic, a ‘practice’ denotes what students are learning about and trying something out, with no output from the experience.

Activities (graded)

Two per topic, an ‘activity’ denotes what the student has learned the material and is ready to demonstrate the knowledge by formally doing something that produces an output for students.

Essay: Students will submit for grade.  The goal is for students to demonstrate their level of competency and to apply what they have learned.

Journal: Students are assigned the task of journaling about what they’ve learned in their online journal and setting related goals.  Short ‘How to’ videos added when appropriate to help with application.
